Company's Ranking Position Moved from #4,231 in 2011 due to 85% Three-Year Growth Rate Spurred by its Innovative Technology Solutions for Manufacturing Clients
PEORIA, Ill., Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Technology Services Inc. (ATS) announced today it was ranked number 3,559 on on the seventh annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America's independent entrepreneurs.
ATS was ranked 4,231 on the 2011 Inc. 500|5000 and significantly increased its ranking in 2013 due to an 85% growth rate over the past three years. The company also added 1,144 jobs during this time, bringing its current staff totals to 2,999 employees. According to Jeff Owens, President of ATS, "Our considerable growth is due to two drivers in our business; the need for manufacturers to increase the performance and efficiency of production assets, and the new technology that ATS has brought to manufacturing."
Mr. Owens attributed the new efficiencies that mobile technology has brought to factory floor as a key ingredient in creating increased uptime of manufacturing machines. "The savings can range from one half hour per technician per shift up to one hour per shift," said Owens. "When you do the math that adds up to quite a time savings providing the fast-paced manufactures we serve with more uptime to produce more products."
In a stagnant economic environment, median growth rate of 2013 Inc. 500|5000 companies is an impressive 142 percent. The companies on this year's list report having created over 520,000 jobs in the past three years, and aggregate revenue among the honorees reached $241 billion.

Methodology
The 2013 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2009 to 2012. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2012. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2009 is $100,000; the minimum for 2012 is $2 million.
