BEND, Ore., May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- American Licorice Company, one of the original licorice manufacturers in the US candy industry, announces the launch of the "How Far Would You Go" for Sour Punch® video contest, where contestants are asked to show what extremes they're willing to go to for their Sour Punch® Candy. The video contest adds another layer to the interactive elements on the Sour Punch® Facebook page and brand website where registered visitors can interact with other fans, play Sour Punch® games, and watch videos from past contests.
"We designed this contest as an extension of the recently launched Sour Punch® commercial 'The Last Straw,' to give our fans the opportunity to show us what great lengths they're willing to go to for their favorite sour candy," explained Kristi Shafer, Brand Manager of Sour Confections for American Licorice Company. "We have been blown away with the creative submissions that Sour Punch® fans have submitted in our past video contests and can't wait to see what they'll come up with this year."
Limiting their video submissions to three minutes in length, contestants are asked to show the wacky extremes they are willing to go to for Sour Punch® candy, incorporating the product into the scene however they choose, whether it's into the dialogue or used as a prop. One winner will be selected each week based on creativity, quality and public votes/views. Entrants are able and encouraged to promote their submissions by sharing submitted videos with their Facebook and Twitter friends to maximize the number of votes.
At the end of the contest submission period on July 10th 2011, one of the weekly winners will be selected as the Grand Prize winner. Each weekly winner will take home a Sour Punch® Prize Pack consisting of Candy, Tshirt and Waterbottle and 9 finalists will receive another variation of the Prize Pack consisting of Candy, Sweatshirt and Waterbottle. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $5000 cash prize. There is no limit to the number of videos an entrant can submit. Complete contest rules are posted here.
