B. Braun to Expand Access and Benefits to Patients with CPNB Catheters Using New Innovative Products and Learning Program
Contiplex Echo, Contiplex C and Leapfrog Program to be unveiled at 39th Annual Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine Meeting
BETHLEHEM, Pa., April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- B. Braun Medical Inc. (B.Braun) will officially launch Contiplex® Echo—its Continuous Peripheral Nerve Block (CPNB) catheter system, which is designed to be echogenic, at the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA) meeting in Chicago, Illinois, April 3rd-6th.
As the market leader in regional anesthesia, B.Braun is committed to providing products and services to meet the changing needs within the acute pain management field. At its booth (#201), B.Braun will also showcase Contiplex® C, its revolutionary catheter-over-needle CPNB system and its new Leapfrog Program, designed to help groups start or expand CPNB catheter programs through clinical product training.
New Contiplex® Echo:
The Contiplex Echo system is designed to be echogenic from both the needle and catheter. The Contiplex Echo catheter's ultrasound visibility can be attributed to the unique Flat-coil Technology used in its construction. (Flat coils are enclosed throughout the entire length of the catheter.) The Contiplex Echo catheter is also styleted for threading control and is available in either open or closed-tip configurations.
The Contiplex Echo system includes B.Braun's industry-proven Contiplex Tuohy Ultra needle. This needle features laser-etched echogenic markings along the first 2cm, which are designed to improve needle tip identification under ultrasound.
Contiplex® C:
The Contiplex C catheter-over-needle system is a revolutionary design for deliberate, one step catheter placement. The needle and catheter are advanced together, then the needle is removed, leaving the catheter tip in the desired location with no need to thread. This can help reduce placement time and make the transition from single shot techniques more straight forward. Because of the catheter-over-needle design, the catheter seals the puncture site, helping to reduce leakage.
The Leapfrog Program:
The Leapfrog Program is designed to help clinicians and facilities start or expand their CPNB catheter programs. Once B.Braun understands goals and challenges, a customized clinical learning plan is developed and facilitated by a B.Braun MD or RN consultant, and a B.Braun Acute Pain Specialist. (Minimum requirements must be met for consideration.)
