B. Braun to Launch Its Innovative INTEGRA™ Infusion Platform at AACN
First and only wireless, integrated technology system for IV pump infusion that is IHE certified for all three AutoComplete integration functions
BETHLEHEM, Pa., May 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- B. Braun Medical Inc. (B.Braun) will unveil its INTEGRA™ Infusion platform at the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition, May 17th -22nd, in Denver Colorado. B.Braun is committed to enhancing patient, clinician and environmental safety with products, services and education focused on sharing best clinical practices.
"We are very proud to offer our customers the first and only wireless, integrated technology system for IV pump infusion that is IHE* certified for all three AutoComplete integration functions, which include auto-programming, auto-documentation and auto-notification," said Mike Golebiowski, Director of Marketing, Automation and Infusion Systems at B.Braun. "This not only helps clinicians to reduce manual data entry errors and save time by increasing documentation accuracy, but also improves alarm reporting to help prevent alarm fatigue."
The issue of alarm fatigue and patient safety is becoming a major concern for healthcare providers as more devices are implemented in the healthcare environment. In 2013, ECRI (Emergency Care Research Institute) recognized alarm hazards as the #1 Health Technology Hazard and the Joint Commission established a new 2014 National Patient Safety Goal to address improving the safety of clinical alarm systems in hospitals.
"Our fully-integrated INTEGRA™ Infusion platform integrates real-time data, pumps, and reporting seamlessly with integrated partners for system-wide compatibility. The end result is Synchronized Intelligence™ to help clinicians achieve 100% drug library utilization, minimal medication errors, and reduction in alerts," added Golebiowski.
In addition to showcasing our integrated IV infusion pump portfolio, which features our innovative Outlook® and Space Infusion Systems**, unique DoseTrac® reporting software for insightful analysis, clinical nurse experts Anne Pohlman and Cathy Sullivan will be presenting the following ExpoEd presentations at B.Braun's booth #1857, May 20th-May 22nd.
