Casio and Adopt the Arts Give the Gift of Music to Los Angeles-Area School

ATA was co-founded by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician, Matt Sorum, and mother of two, Abby Berman, in 2012 in response to LAUSD's threat to eliminate its arts education budget for elementary schools within the district. Supported by artists and musicians such as Jane Lynch and Slash, ATA has developed a K-5th music curriculum that immerses students in music theory, instruments, and vocal music.

"Elementary students all over Los Angeles depend on Adopt the Arts to provide instruments for their music classes, and the success of our program hinges on the support of the arts and music community coming together and believing in this cause," said Matt Sorum, Founder of Adopt the Arts. "Casio's generosity in providing keyboards to Rosewood Avenue Elementary goes beyond simply putting instruments in a classroom – this donation showcases an ongoing commitment to growing arts education programs and making it a priority for schools in the greater Los Angeles area."

Through ATA-sponsored classes and programs, students attend a designated music class twice a week. By the end of their 5^th grade year, students of the program can sight-read music notation, play an instrument, sing in harmony, and have an understanding of musical histories and cultures from around the world. To date, ATA has donated over 1,000 instruments to 30 schools and has fully adopted 2 elementary schools in LAUSD.

For Rosewood Elementary, Casio's SA-46 Mini Keyboard provided the best solution for its new classes. The SA-46 is the perfect instrument to help students start their musical journey.
