- The nationwide University Program is celebrating 10 years of preparing future financial professionals
- New industry partnerships include the FinServ Foundation and 100 Women in Finance
RADNOR, Pa., Sept. 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- eMoney Advisor (eMoney), a leading provider of technology solutions and services that help people talk about money, today announced the continued expansion of its long-standing efforts to enhance the future of the financial planning profession by increasing access to its financial planning technology through the growth of its University Program, eMoney Certifications and new industry partnerships.
University Program Turns 10
Over the past decade, eMoney has partnered with 160 universities in 40 states through its University Program in which students gain hands-on experience with the same cutting-edge technology used by today's leading financial advisors. Students pursuing the financial planning profession are provided with access to eMoney and an opportunity to earn their eMoney Certification, which affirms eMoney proficiency and offers a valuable skill for the job market, which places planners in high demand.
Recent eMoney findings from financial planning experts recognize the potential of a talent shortage. They believe technology will help narrow the anticipated gap by creating efficiencies that allow advisors to serve a greater number of clients.1
"We're helping to fill this gap and support the talent pipeline through our University Program," said Matthew Schulte, head of financial planning at eMoney. "We're proud to celebrate 10 years of preparing future financial professionals with the tools, skills, and confidence to shape the future of the profession."
In 2025, 13 new universities joined the program, and more than 1,000 certifications have been completed by students. Additionally, participating schools are reporting successful internship and full-time job placements, higher starting salaries and faster career advancement by their graduating students.
"Our students are differentiating themselves with their CFP education and use of eMoney…I've now developed two practicum courses around eMoney where students take financial planning client case data and use it to build and present financial plans," said Gregory Renn, CFP®, Distinguished Lecturer of Wealth Management at Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, whose students have achieved 100 percent internship placement and 100 percent full-time job placement. "It's a privilege to use eMoney. Its impact is resonating with students and employers."
Industry Partnerships
eMoney also provides access to its technology and the option to earn the eMoney Certification through additional industry partnerships that serve students, career changers, and aspiring financial advisors from diverse backgrounds, including:
- FinServ Foundation: A new partner in 2025, the foundation is focused on building a more inclusive, representative and vibrant financial services profession by working directly with colleges and universities to support the next generation. Specifically, eMoney is helping the foundation send planning students to industry events and conferences.
- 100 Women in Finance: Also a new partner for eMoney, the global organization is committed to gender equity in finance by promoting diversity, raising visibility and empowering women to find their personal path to success. They connect women at every career stage, including pre-career, to a global network of people and resources. Through the partnership, eMoney employees, regardless of gender, gain access to education, networking and mentoring opportunities.
- The Externship: Since 2020, eMoney has served as the exclusive financial planning technology partner of this eight-week virtual learning program for individuals to learn more about financial planning. The program removes barriers to entry, provides meaningful hands-on experience and creates structured pathways for the profession. Over 2,000 externs were trained on the eMoney platform in 2025.
- BLX Internship: The internship for aspiring Black and Latinx financial planners is mission-driven to make the demographics of the financial planning profession more representative of the population of our country and provide planning firms access to a more diverse pool of talent. eMoney provides access to its technology and certification to all BLX interns at no cost.
- Wall Street Diversity Accelerator (WSDA): The internship program provides rising sophomores and juniors with an introduction to career possibilities in financial services. eMoney serves as a technology partner, enabling access to its technology and certification.
To date, more than 6,400 collective certifications have been completed through the University Program and industry partnerships.
"The growth of the University Program and our industry partnerships reflect eMoney's mission, vision and values and our desire to impact how financial planning evolves today and into the future," said Schulte. "As our company celebrates 25 years in business, these programs are a huge part of our story and help motivate us to continue making financial planning more accessible, more scalable and more meaningful."
