GERMANTOWN, Md., May 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), a leading global provider of managed network services, today introduced the Hughes Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) solution for the public sector, joining its comprehensive suite of HughesON™ managed services for multi-site organizations.

ActiveClassifier™, which automatically and dynamically classifies traffic based on flow behavior, eliminating the time-consuming process of manually configuring and maintaining rules to classify and prioritize specific applications required by other SD-WAN products. This optimization is particularly critical for real-time and cloud-based applications allowing this traffic to be prioritized over non-time sensitive data.
ActiveCompression™, which reduces network congestion and improves application performance, especially at bandwidth-constrained sites.

As part of its managed solution, Hughes integrates cost-effective nationwide broadband access via multiple transport technologies, including cable, fiber, LTE and satellite, in secure yet flexible configurations to meet specific requirements at each agency site location.
