MORRISTOWN, N.J., May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) has named Vicky Thiel manager of its Dover Line Shop. Her new responsibilities include supervising 40 line workers and other personnel who help maintain safe and reliable service to customers in the northwest portion of Morris County.
Managing a line shop is a key operations position at JCP&L. Overall, JCP&L has 14 line shops, including six in its northern New Jersey service area and eight in its central New Jersey service area.
Thiel joined JCP&L in 1982 as a meter reader and over her 30-plus year career has served in a variety of positions with the company, most recently as supervisor of engineering.
"With her wealth of utility operations experience, Vicky is a welcome addition to our management team and is well respected by her co-workers," said Anthony Hurley, JCP&L vice president of Operations. "She also is a local resident and has played an important role in the enhancements that have been made to JCP&L's storm restoration process."
She holds a bachelor of science degree from the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, N.J.
Thiel resides in Frankford Township, N.J.
