SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y., July 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- American sportswear brand, J.McLaughlin is redefining resort retail with the debut of its first-ever Summertime: Southampton retail experience, opening July 4th weekend. Nestled next to the brand’s iconic Job’s Lane store, Summertime: Southampton is designed in collaboration with renowned Venetian-born designer Alvise Orsini and showcases a curated edit of vintage J.McLaughlin designs, limited-edition summer styles, and artisanal pieces by Orsini Glassworks.
The space features classic blue and white stripes, whitewashed wood, rattan textures, and wicker details — reminiscent of a 1950s Venetian lido. Designed as both a discovery destination and a celebration of the brand’s timeless coastal aesthetic, Summertime: Southampton is more than a seasonal moment. It signals a broader evolution for J.McLaughlin, blending heritage with modern expression and inviting customers to engage with the brand in fresh, immersive ways.
“Creating unexpected, joyful experiences is core to who we are at J.McLaughlin,” said Greg Unis, Interim CEO. “With our debut Summertime concept in Southampton, we’re inviting customers to step directly into the narrative of a perfect seaside holiday cabana. It’s more than just a store. It’s a dynamic blend of boutique and clubhouse, a place where people can gather, linger, and truly experience the essence of our brand. This is the first expression of an evolved direction for J.McLaughlin, where storytelling, community, and discovery come together in an even more engaging way.”
The space showcases a thoughtfully curated mix of J.McLaughlin archival pieces, including vintage wicker handbags, silk handkerchiefs, and heritage scarves, alongside fresh new arrivals that reflect the brand’s modern take on timeless coastal style. The whimsical experience invites visitors to engage with J.McLaughlin’s world in a tactile, cabana, inspired setting. Serving as a concept shop, Summertime: Southampton creates a lifestyle destination where tastemakers, beachgoers, and longtime brand loyalists can gather, discover, and connect.
J.McLaughlin’s latest collection and vintage offerings will be displayed alongside Orsini's exclusive handblown Murano glasswork, created especially for this collaboration. The limited-edition glass pieces, featuring striped tumblers in jewel tones of topaz green, ruby red, azure blue, and amber orange, as well as coral and emerald-rimmed pitchers and sophisticated cocktail glasses, are available exclusively in the U.S. at J.McLaughlin Summertime: Southampton.
“I wanted to create a space that reflects the evolving voice of the brand; one that feels both refined and rooted in quiet elegance. I focused on architecture that brings symmetry and proportion, essential elements of any magical and engaging retail experience,” said Alvise Orsini, Venetian-born designer and longtime creative collaborator. “The inspiration came from the striped cabanas at the Lido in Venice, where I grew up. It’s one of the world’s oldest resort destinations, rich in tradition and quiet elegance, which felt like the perfect fit for both my glasswork and for J.McLaughlin. This collaboration is a kind of voyage, transporting the essence of the Serenissima to Southampton.”
J.Mclaughlin Summertime: Southampton will host weekly community events. Store hours are 10 AM–6 PM, Monday through Saturday, and 11 AM–5 PM on Sundays.
