Kiddie Academy® offers interactive STEM events nationwide

Educational child care providers to host free, play-based 'STEM Adventures'

ABINGDON, Md., March 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 175 Kiddie Academy^® Educational Child Care franchise locations nationwide will host "STEM Adventures," a free event featuring developmentally appropriate games and activities that explore science, technology, engineering and math. Families with children ages 2 through 12 are invited to attend events planned for various weekends throughout March, April and May.

"Many of the outcomes we hope all children enrolled at Kiddie Academy achieve, like critical thinking, curiosity and creative expression, are influenced by STEM learning," said Joy Turner, vice president of education at Kiddie Academy. "Elements of STEM can be found in everything we do throughout our whole lives, which means children benefit from exposure starting at a young age."

At the events, children will engage in experiences focused on movement—like playing a bowling game, making art with gravity and pendulums, decorating and launching construction paper rockets, or making a magnetic racetrack. Activities will be interactive, play-based and developmentally appropriate.

According to the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), STEM education is critical to laying the groundwork for children's overall growth and learning by prioritizing skills like problem solving, critical thinking, creativity and expression, and collaboration. Kiddie Academy focuses on these skills through its Life Essentials^® curriculum.
