Kounta Certifies Five Epson Printers For Its Cloud-Based POS Platform

CHICAGO, May 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- National Restaurant Association (NRA) -- Epson America, Inc., a leading supplier of value-added Point of Sale (POS) solutions, today announced that Kounta, a cloud-based POS platform, has certified the Epson OmniLink^® TM-T88V-i and Epson OmniLink TM-T20II-i smart printers, as well as the Epson TM-T20II, TM-T88V and TM-U220 tablet POS-friendly printers, for Kounta's cloud-based POS platform. Kounta, which announced its move into the North American business software market with the launch of its POS platform in February 2015, will sell and support the integrated solutions and is showing them at NRA, McCormick Place, Chicago, Il, May 16-19 at booth # 9038.

According to a June 2014 research report by IHL Group titled "Mobile POS: Reaching Escape Velocity—All Systems Go," mobility in retail is now a $7.8 billion business worldwide and "the single fastest moving trend in retail since the Internet was added to stores." Their report also states that more than 3.6 million tablets will be shipped for use in North American retail/hospitality by 2016.  Epson meets this growth with their TM-i series printers that communicate directly with tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices without the need for a server or PC.  Epson and Kounta also enable easy integration into existing POS systems so retail and hospitality providers are able to preserve their current investments.
