L.L.Bean Celebrates 100 Years of Outdoor Discovery with 100th Anniversary Hometown Celebration July 4-7 in Freeport, ME

FREEPORT, Maine, June 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Excitement is mounting for the L.L.Bean 100th Anniversary Hometown Celebration coming to Freeport, ME July 4th –7th. The four-day event will include a traditional 4th of July parade featuring the 20-foot long L.L.Bean Bootmobile, free daily concerts in L.L.Bean's Discovery Park, free Outdoor Discovery Schools activities, the opportunity to play outdoor games with Snowboard Cross World Champion and Maine native Seth Wescott, and much more. The festivities will culminate with the most spectacular fireworks display ever seen in the state of Maine.

  • Free concert featuring country artist Jo Dee Messina in Discovery Park (7:30 p.m.)
• Thursday, July 5th
  • Free Outdoor Discovery School activities, including kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Visits from retired Red Sox player Rico Petrocelli, Wally the Green Monster and the World Series trophies (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
