KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockton Companies has named Julie Gibson senior vice president, director of marketing, communications and external affairs. In this new role, Gibson will focus on growing the Lockton brand globally and creating communications strategies to support Lockton's planned growth. Gibson will report to Peter Clune, U.S. president and chief operating officer.

This announcement comes on the heels of Lockton's recent addition of Said Taiym, chief digital officer. Together, they join the Lockton Inc. senior leadership team in Kansas City and are critical hires to help Lockton achieve the growth goal of $3 billion globally.

Gibson has built a distinguished career as a communications consultant and entrepreneur, spending the previous seven years as client partnership director at Global Prairie, a global marketing firm, headquartered in Kansas City. At Global Prairie, her client teams focused on corporate communications, public affairs and brand strategy. Her client partners include some of the most respected brands in their industries, included Bayer Crop Science, the City of Kansas City, Missouri, Google Fiber, KCP&L, Populous, the University of Kansas Health System and Sprint Center.
Gibson also brings a strong commitment to the community with her service as president of the Missouri Court Appointed Advocates Association Board of Directors and to the Shawnee Mission School District Committee for Excellence. Along with her husband, she is a volunteer and co-chair for the 2018 and 2019 Child Protection Center's Cook for Courage event. She is a graduate of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Centurion's Leadership Program and the Civic Council's Kansas City Tomorrow program. Julie holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri in political science with an emphasis in Journalism.
