Former RTDNA Chairman to lead the way for StoryTeller® Interactive Touchscreen Solution
STATE COLLEGE, Pa., April 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AccuWeather Global Weather Center -- In light of the explosive growth of the StoryTeller Interactive Touchscreen Solution, Loren Tobia, a former chairman of Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), has been promoted to the role of Vice President of Sales for AccuWeather's Display Systems and Services division. In this new role, Loren will drive the expansion of StoryTeller, which is already featured in all top ten U.S. markets with a collective domestic audience of 80 million households.
"StoryTeller has been embraced by the TV news industry as the leader in interactive touchscreen solutions, but the depth of our downloadable apps has taken the product into a class all its own," Tobia said. "By enabling the downloading of and dynamic switching of apps we allow newsrooms to change rapidly to keep pace with breaking news. In that way, they can create broadcast-ready, interactive presentations for virtually any story."
Loren has over 25 years of experience in broadcast news, as television news director for stations including WTVH Syracuse, NY; KMTV Omaha, NE; and WSAZ Huntington, WV. Loren was also chairman of RTDNA in 1996 and has been treasurer of the same organization since 2001. He is a former member of CBS News Affiliates Board as well as the former chair of West Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters.
StoryTeller downloadable applications are flexible and easy to use, providing newsrooms with a virtually unlimited array of options for communicating any story, in any forum, and for any need. In addition to the Crime, Social Media, and Traffic Apps, StoryTeller offers News, Sports, 3D, Interactive Maps, Airport Delays, Timeline, Designer, Elections, Charts and Graphics, Telestrator, and Weather Apps all easily downloadable for flexible and complete newsroom coverage.
