New test identifies what workers need for job satisfaction and longevity
LUTZ, Fla., Aug. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- PAR, Inc. is proud to announce the new Work Values Inventory (WVI), a career exploration tool that helps job seekers learn more about what they need in a working environment. Derived from the Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network (O*NET), the WVI measures work values—also known as vocational needs—to help those seeking employment narrow their career selection choices. It can also assist human resource personnel in the selection of job applicants.
The WVI assesses six work values (achievement, independence, support, relationships, working conditions, and recognition), which influence an individual's satisfaction in his or her work environment. The test is self-administered, self-scored, and self-interpreted and takes just 10 minutes. No special training or certification is required—the WVI can be used by individuals to learn more about themselves, by career counselors to help clients find the right career fit, and by human resource professionals to evaluate job candidates.
"Most people want a job that is in line with their working values," said R. Bob Smith, III, PhD, PAR chairman and CEO. "Knowing what one needs in a job can help job seekers find a career that 'fits,' and one that they truly enjoy. This leads to long-term job satisfaction for the employee, who tends to stay longer and be more productive for the company."
The WVI Introductory Kit is priced at just $145. To learn more, visit www.parinc.com, or call PAR Customer Support at 1.800.331.8378.
