Humankind acquisition grows company's presence in the Northeast and expands company's bottled beverage offerings nationwide
Credit Key partnership enables company to offer customers 30+ day terms with 0% interest
NEW YORK, May 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Odeko, the all-in-one operation and technology partner for thousands of local coffee shops, cafes, and other food and beverage businesses, today announced it has acquired Humankind Beverage, a cafe distributor and bottled beverage brand located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
The acquisition expands Odeko's market presence in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States, including the hundreds of customers that Humankind has served. Humankind customers largely comprise premier local coffee shops and cafes in Pennsylvania and the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, such as Denim Coffee, Downtown Joe, Ebenezer Coffeehouse, Frederick Coffee, New Holland Coffee and Ultimo Coffee.
As part of the transaction, Odeko will also sell Humankind bottled water, juices and teas across its national distribution network. More than just a bottled beverage brand, Humankind was born out of the belief that everyone should have access to clean drinking water. Historically, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of every bottled beverage goes toward providing access to clean water globally. Odeko has committed to not only continue but increase those contributions.
"Humankind started in 2011 as a bottle of water and a desire to provide access to clean water all over the world," said Humankind co-founders TJ Foltz and Ethan Frey. "Over time, the brand grew to include teas, lemonades and fruit juices which we sold out of our own distribution network in the Mid-Atlantic. When Odeko came along and expressed excitement about the distribution and the brand, we knew it was our opportunity to make the next leap. We're extremely excited to be a part of the Odeko family and can't wait to see how big we can grow this thing!"
"We're thrilled to welcome the Humankind team to Odeko," said Dane Atkinson, CEO and Founder of Odeko. "We've known TJ and Ethan for years and are honored that they have decided to entrust us with their customers, their brand, and—most importantly—their goal of providing clean water to those in need. We're excited to see what we can do together."
Today Odeko also announced that it has partnered with financing provider Credit Key to offer integrated flexible payment options that provide an instant credit line for purchases big and small on the Odeko platform. Approved customers can receive 30+ day terms with 0% interest. Odeko is pleased to be able to provide additional flexibility to its customers and to add this solution to its suite of customer offerings.
