KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hallmark's Shoebox brand celebrated its 29th birthday with a star-studded party on June 10 at The Improv Comedy Club in Los Angeles. At the party, celebrity guests played beer pong, shopped for Shoebox cards throughout the night, and enjoyed a stand-up show featuring comedians Neal Brennan ("Chappelle's Show"), Loni Love ("The Real"), Heather McDonald (TLC's "All About Sex"), Josh Wolf ("Chelsea Lately") and YouTube sensation, Miranda Sings.
"People who send and save cards, you want to be friends with those people. Those are the people who will get you something good on your birthday," said Rob Riggle, a popular stand-up comedian/writer/producer. "And people who give Shoebox cards are the best kind of people. They want to make your day a little happier, a little more joyful. They want to make you laugh. There is nothing better than a person who wants to make you laugh."
Attendees included Nina Dobrev ("Vampire Diaries") and Austin Stowell ("Whiplash"), (who were seen getting cozy during the show), Shannon Beador and Lizzie Rovsek ("Real Housewives of Orange County"), Cheryl Burke ("Dancing with the Stars"), Grace Helbig ("The Grace Helbig Project"), Michael Cudlitz ("The Walking Dead"), Tammin Sursok ("Pretty Little Liars"), William Zabka ("The Karate Kid"), Molly Burnett and Spencer Neville ("Days of Our Lives") and Bridget Regan ("Jane the Virgin").
"At Shoebox we work hard to be funny every day, so our 29th birthday was a good excuse to take some time off and enjoy the company of other funny people we admire," said Sarah Tobaben, head funny person at Hallmark. "The chance to celebrate our quirky, rebellious, occasionally inappropriate, Shoebox sense of humor with comedians we respect was a dream come true."
