Special Guests, Inc. Retains TransMedia Group to Publicize its Long Winning Streak of National Broadcast Bookings
BOCA RATON, Fla., April 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In a move equivalent to Peyton Manning hiring his own passer, publicist Jerry McGlothlin, announced he has hired the public relations firm TransMedia Group (www.transmediagroup.com) to publicize his firm's long winning streak of booking guests on national broadcast shows.
"It's time I stepped out of the shadows from where I've led so many guests onto national broadcast shows," he said. So for first time, the President and Founder of Special Guests, Inc., (www.specialguests.com) will have his own publicist promoting his 20-plus years of exploits in national publicity.
Working mostly off camera and behind the scenes McGlothlin has led legions of people into the bright lights of network television shows, said TransMedia's Director of Public Relations Allison McCormick.
"Our publicity will show that Special Guests has excelled as an alternative to a traditional PR firm, which typically does many more things than booking guests on shows," she said. "They're so effective because they concentrate on just one thing—bookings."
Founded in 1986, Special Guests has built a network of high quality relationships with show hosts, producers and bookers on popular shows on Fox News Channel, CNN, NBC, and thousands of radio talk shows across the country.
"While well-known within the broadcast industry, the general public is not aware of the role Special Guests plays in arranging interviews and product placements," said Tom Madden, TransMedia's founder and chairman who met McGlothlin over 20-years ago. "I could tell Jerry had a knack for publicity and I'm not surprised he has built such a productive organization comprising over 30 publicists stationed across the country.
McCormick said TransMedia's campaign for Special Guests will include publicizing how much Special Guests has done for hard-pressed non-profit organizations, political campaigns, and cause-related groups in opening opportunities to get their message out to millions.
Special Guests also helps corporations by securing ideal media placements for clients like Omaha Steaks on 'Jill's Steal & Deals' on NBC's The Today Show. From that one booking alone, Omaha Steaks sold 78,000 units within 24 hours.
"We're looking to TransMedia to get our own story out, especially to the corporate community as we feel the publicity we generate can help our economy," said McGlothlin.
"Special Guests will be a highly bookable client," said Madden
