Based on a survey conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the prevalence of eczema among children younger than 18 rose between 2000 and 2010: from approximately 9 percent to 17 percent among black children; from 5 percent to 10 percent among Hispanic children; and from approximately 8 percent to almost 13 percent among white children. The study, which specifically focused on Eucerin Eczema Relief Body Creme and Eucerin Eczema Relief Flare-Up Treatment resulted in reduced risk of flare, prolonged time to flare and effectively reduced eczema symptoms when flares occurred in pediatric subjects with eczema.
Study subjects included a 45 infants and children with an average age of about 3.5 years – all of whom had a confirmed history of mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis and recurring eczema flares – and were flare-free at enrollment.
