- Prepare for the Burn. Those simply preparing for Halloween by putting up decorations or carving pumpkins for an hour can burn 272 calories (among adults).

- The Costume Dance. Parents wrangling two kids into costumes for ten minutes can burn a quick 42 calories, enough to enjoy a fun-size treat without any guilt.

- Walk it Off. On Halloween night, adults can burn 106 calories for every mile walked, which can turn into over 500 calories after a night of supervising the kids around the neighborhood. Even better, offer to carry your child's pillowcase or bucket full of candy for two hours and burn up to 637 calories! Win-win for you and your child.

- The Tired Child Carry. If you're toting your 'lil tyke around the neighborhood for two hours (whether they can't walk just yet or they simply choose not to), take it with grace knowing that you'll burn up to 819 calories.

Given the average calorie count of a fun-size candy bar such as Snickers or Twix is 80 calories, it's easy to see how you can indulge in a treat or two, completely guilt (and judgement) free.
