University of Edinburgh Selects Echo360 Video Platform to Reinvent the Student Learning Experience

EDINBURGH, Scotland, Sept. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Echo360, the academic video platform used by over three million students in 30 countries, announced today a new, long-term partnership with the University of Edinburgh, one of the leading universities in the world, to improve the student experience by leveraging technology to drive deeper engagement with learning content.

Following a rigorous evaluation process, the University of Edinburgh selected Echo360 to enhance the academic experience for all learners. The cloud-based solution supports automated recording of lectures at scale, keeping the administrative burden and barriers to staff participation low. In addition to watching lecture recordings on demand, students can ask questions, bookmark important content, take time-synced notes during lectures and engage with lecturers and peers, all from a mobile device, tablet or computer.

About the University of Edinburgh Lecture Recording Programme
The University is investing in the student digital experience by providing a new lecture recording service. A three-year lecture recording programme has been initiated to roll out the new service. The aim is to enhance student satisfaction with learning resources and academic support by recording lectures at scale. The first stage of the roll-out will replace and upgrade existing software and audio-visual kit in 114 rooms by the start of the 2017/18 academic year. Around 300 rooms will be equipped by the start of the 2018/19 academic year and, when roll-out is complete, 400 rooms will be enabled to deliver lecture recording.
