Italy's Tecon Wins Pinnacle Award as Viavi Marks One-Year Anniversary of its Channel Partner Program

MILPITAS, Calif., Dec. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Viavi Solutions (NASDAQ: VIAV) today announced the winners of the Viavi Velocity Partner Program Star Awards, and named this year's Pinnacle Award winner: Tecon. Launched one year ago, the Velocity Partner Program rewards partner commitment and builds long-lasting relationships in order to accelerate next-generation networks and services solutions to better serve customers.

Viavi's value-based partner program, which received a 5-Star rating in the CRN^® 2016 Partner Program Guide, is built on a strong technology foundation and backed by a commitment to a best-in-class partner model. The Velocity Partner Program empowers a global network of channel partners, resellers and distributors with incentives, promotions and tools to grow business amid industry migration to cloud, virtualization and software-defined networking.

The Velocity Star Team Award winners are among the top 10 percent of Viavi partners in their regions, as measured by their combined performance in fiscal year 2016 and year-over-year growth from fiscal year 2015. The Pinnacle Award recognizes Viavi's top channel partner. Star and Pinnacle Award winners will be recognized at special dinners in their home cities, where they will receive their awards.

Reaching the Pinnacle
Based in Italy, Tecon has a strong track record of delivering outstanding telecom test equipment and optical components. Tecon has worked with Viavi (and previously JDSU) for 21 years and together they have delivered a portfolio of robust fiber test products. In 2016, the two companies teamed to become a major supplier of optical and wireless field test instruments to a national European carrier. Solutions offered to the market include testers for passive optical network (PON) and optical time domain reflectometry (OTDR) for service providers and enterprises. To provide clients with added value, Viavi and Tecon have delivered free training sessions and set up dedicated R&D labs.
