China Economic Information; CEIS) działający przy agencji informacyjnej Xinhua News Agency opublikował w czwartek w Szanghaju, na wschodzie Chin, sprawozdanie pt. „The Global Fashion Industry Index - Fashion Week Vitality Index Report" dotyczące branży mody w 2021 roku.

W rankingu tygodni mody, który zawiera sprawozdanie, w pierwszej czwórce znalazły się kolejno Paris Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, London Fashion Week i Shanghai Fashion Week. O jedno miejsce w stosunku do roku 2020, na piątą pozycję, spadł New York Fashion Week, natomiast China Fashion Week, Tokyo Fashion Week i Seoul Fashion Week zajęły miejsca odpowiednio od szóstego do ósmego. 

Sprawozdanie „The Global Fashion Industry Index – Fashion Week Vitality Index Report", po raz pierwszy opublikowane w marcu 2018 r., powstało jako głos Chin w międzynarodowej branży mody, zapewniając analizę ilościową opartą na modelach ewaluacyjnych – od agregacji współczynnikowej, przez zasięg medialny i branżowy.

Jeśli chodzi o poddaną ocenie agregację współczynnikową, która odzwierciedla skalę danego tygodnia mody i efekt agregacyjny zasobów branżowych, Shanghai Fashion Week odnotował w 2021 r. wzrost liczby uczestniczących marek o 2,3% w porównaniu do poprzedniego roku. Tym samym było to jedyny tydzień mody w analizowanej próbie, który odnotował wzrost tego wskaźnika, jednocześnie przekraczając jego poziom z przedpandemijnego w 2019 r.

Pod względem indeksu cząstkowego zasięgu medialnego, który odzwierciedla świadomość mediów na temat danego tygodnia mody, Shanghai Fashion Week zajął w 2021 r. trzecie miejsce, po raz pierwszy wyprzedzając New York Fashion Week i London Fashion Week.

W 2021 r. Shanghai Fashion Week zwiększył poziom widoczności w mediach społecznościowych dzięki zawarciu współpracy z Tiktokiem, w ramach której uruchomiono Chiński Program Wsparcia Niezależnych Projektantów (ang. China Independent Designer Support Program) oraz stworzono nowe wydarzenie pt. „Szanghajski Karnawał Mody i Stylu Życia" (ang. Shanghai Fashion & Lifestyle Carnival; SHFLC) w celu promowania krajowych marek i projektantów.

Według raportu w światowej branży mody można zauważyć stopniowe ożywienie po okresie stagnacji pandemijnej. Wskazano też, że zachodząca w niej transformacja cyfrowa przyspieszyła na skutek pandemii COVID-19, napędzając długofalowe, trwałe zmiany w branży.

W raporcie można też przeczytać, że w przyszłości sprzedaż w branży mody bazować będzie na modelach omni-channel oraz online i offline.
