YouTube Sensation Miranda Sings Prefers Shoebox Cards
'Five-threat' artist shares tips for using Shoebox cards in fan mail and beyond
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The nation's number one brand of humor cards today announced its partnership with YouTube's leading lady of comedy, Miranda Sings. Miranda, a self-proclaimed 'five-threat' (singing, acting, modeling, dancing, and 'magicianing') released a new video that teaches her "Mirfandas" about the fine art of sending fan mail – using Shoebox cards, of course.
"While her 'haters' may call her comically talentless, egotistical and narcissistic, at Shoebox, we are devout Mirfandas," said Sarah Tobaben, head funny person at Hallmark. "Whether she means to or not, she helps people find humor in everyday life, and that's part of what Shoebox cards help people do, too."
In the video, Miranda lets her followers in on a little secret: she loves all fan mail, but she really loves fan mail that's written in a Shoebox card. The video showcases Miranda finding various uses for Shoebox cards beyond saying "happy birthday" or "thinking of you," including a magic carpet, a tent for a small bug or even a weapon for giving paper cuts.
"I get tons of fan mail every day because I am so popular and pritty," says Miranda. "I decided to make this video to let my Mirfandas know that Shoebox cards are almost as funny as me, which is why I prefer them over all other things that come in envelopes."
This is not Shoebox's first foray into partnering with the funniest folks on the Internet. As part of the brand's total overhaul to update the collection with a modern look and language reflecting today's world in a quirky, rebellious and occasionally inappropriate way, Shoebox has also partnered with other well-known online influencers this year, including Grace Helbig, @beigecardigan and @thefatjewish. In addition, Shoebox also teamed up with Instagram darling and rescue dog Toast of @ToastMeetsWorld to create two special-edition Shoebox cards. The cards are available nationwide where Shoebox cards are sold, as well as on Hallmark.com.
Miranda's video, along with all other influencer content, is viewable on Shoebox's website, the Writers' Room, an online destination for consumers to meet the Shoebox team, browse Shoebox content, connect with Shoebox on social media and just plain laugh. Shoebox cards can be found at participating Hallmark retailers nationwide as well as online at Hallmark.com.
