Princess Arwa Al Qassimi supports the Food for Change initiative
NEW YORK, Nov. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The India Cares Foundation and HH Sheikha Arwa Al Qassimi have come together for a noble cause. Princess Arwa Al Qassimi is a member of the royal family of Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah and has taken part in supporting Food For Change. This initiative organized by the India Cares Foundation aims at enriching the lives of millions of people.

India Cares Foundation is a community that has the sole aim to fuel financially the noble causes of numerous NGOs. The India Cares Foundation in its third edition of Food for Change has done just that and ultimately helped to raise a whopping Rs 23.63 lakh for 20 NGOs. This humanitarian attempt attracted a great deal of attention and encouraged many to get associated with such noble cause. The popular Indiranagar Club supported this cause by allowing the event to take place at their venue. Representing their charitable motives, six top hotels and restaurants contributed food for about 450 people. Artists and well-known personalities also got associated. In spite of their busy and tight schedule, Subra Mania - the band that features Ambi & Bindu Subramaniam - performed at this fundraising event.
HH Sheikha Arwa Al Qassimi was one of the sponsors of the event to help the NGOs. With the expenses, the NGOs direct and make use of 100% of the donations for their programmes. The event finally raised funds to Rs 95 lakh. The main share of funds came not only from individuals, but from corporate contributions as well. With quite a large number of Indians still coming across issues like lack of proper medical services, illiteracy, shelter, food, and numerous other issues that stop a nation from developing, much remains to be completed to help every disadvantaged person to go away from impoverishment in the view of the sponsor.
