State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company Seizes High-Speed Railway "Window Period" to Complete Power Line Construction Crossing High-Speed Railway

CHANGZHOU, China, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- In the early hours of September 17, taking advantage of the nighttime suspension window of the Nanjing-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway, State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company organized more than 100 construction personnel to carry out the relocation and modification of the 220 kV Ganyu Line crossing the high-speed railway, launching a critical battle on railway-related power projects to fully ensure the smooth progress of key local power connection projects.

This line relocation is an important supporting project of the 220 kV connection project from Ganxi Substation to CATL Jiangsu Phase VI. To adapt to the requirements of erecting new lines, the project will optimize the original line crossing structure, dismantle outdated steel towers, conductors, and supporting facilities, build new tension towers, and upgrade the traditional straight-through crossing form to an independent tension section crossing with higher safety and stability, significantly enhancing the safety redundancy of line operation.

Power construction crossing high-speed railways is a Level II high-risk operation, with stringent construction standards and great difficulty in safety control. The working conditions for this project were extremely constrained: the high-speed railway only opened a four-hour suspension window from 0:00 to 4:00 a.m. daily, the overall construction period was only eight days, and nighttime visibility was poor with dense operating lines in the surrounding area, placing extremely high demands on construction precision, process coordination, and safety prevention and control.

To complete the construction task efficiently and reliably, the Company coordinated with the railway department half a year in advance to complete plan submission, approval and communication, and improved the full set of construction and emergency plans. Before construction, the project team conducted multiple full-process procedure simulations, refined job responsibilities, and completed equipment trial runs, safety technical disclosures, and specialized protection deployments, building a solid defense line for safe construction.

During the first window period, large-scale machinery and equipment on site operated with precision, and construction personnel divided tasks and collaborated efficiently, completing a series of procedures including protection setup and old line removal in a standardized manner. At 4:00 a.m., the first day's late-night construction task concluded successfully. On-site personnel completed equipment withdrawal and site clearance, achieving zero errors and zero hidden hazards in the operation, laying a solid foundation for the advancement of subsequent works and the reliable upgrading of the regional power grid.
