SINGAPORE, Oct. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Jumpshot Singapore, the nation's first professional 3x3 basketball team, has reached a new milestone by climbing to #35 in the FIBA 3x3 Team Rankings, the highest-ever position achieved by a Singapore-based professional team. This breakthrough on the global stage underscores Jumpshot's growing competitiveness and its mission to professionalise 3x3 basketball in Singapore and the region.

A Team Built on Experience and Local Development

Jumpshot's rise in the international rankings has been driven by a core of experienced professionals and ambitious local talent. The team's core features Filip Krämer from Austria and Hungary's Attila Demeter, both seasoned 3x3 and 5x5 players who bring leadership, discipline and chemistry to the court. They are joined by global standouts such as reigning FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup MVP and gold medallist Dillon Stith (Australia), FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup MVP and silver medallist Omer Sadeh (Israel), Marek Klassen (Canada), Jose Blázquez (Spain), Diego De Blas (Spain), Charalampos Kiousis (Greece) and Jakob Strel (Slovenia), all of whom have represented their countries on the international stage, bringing an abundance of experience and pedigree to the Jumpshot roster.

Alongside these international stalwarts, Jumpshot continues to invest in emerging Singaporean players such as Sergul Toh, Ron Teh, and Jackson Mah, giving them exposure to international competition and mentoring opportunities. Together, these athletes have helped Jumpshot to establish itself as one of Asia's most consistent and competitive professional 3x3 teams. Over the past season, the team has secured podium finishes across multiple tournaments in Penang, Seoul, Taipei, Hongcheon and Singapore, ultimately culminating in two international championship titles – the Yunnan 3x3 Grand Final in Kunming and the second season of the Jumpshot 3x3 right here in Singapore.

The Kunming victory marked the first-ever international 3x3 title for a Singaporean team, with national player Jackson Mah on the roster. The subsequent win on home soil featured two local players, underscoring Jumpshot's commitment towards blending international experience and promising Singaporean talents.

Coaching Excellence and the Jumpshot 3x3 Academy

At the heart of Jumpshot's mission is the Jumpshot 3x3 Academy, a youth development platform led by Demeter, Krämer, and Tan Kang Yi, Singapore's first female professional 3x3 player. The Academy focuses on holistic athlete development, combining technical training, mental conditioning, leadership, and tactical court awareness.

Since its inception, the Academy has produced several promising players who have achieved top finishes at prominent local tournaments such as Pesta Sukan, Pink Warriors 3x3 and Locker Room 3x3. In January 2024, it organised Singapore's first 3x3 event held inside a shopping mall, capturing the sport's urban energy and accessibility, and will continue to host this annual gathering of the region's top teams in 2025 and beyond. This builds on a long history of innovation: in 2012, Jumpshot became the first local organiser to host a FIBA-endorsed 3x3 event, the Singapore Big Three, which helped lay the foundation for the growth of 3x3 basketball nationwide.
