KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Sept. 1, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Hager Malaysia, a subsidiary of Hager Group, a leading supplier of solutions and services for electrical installations, has accomplished one of the sustainability targets for the year by organizing a ZERO Trash Campaign in alignment with Hager Group's sustainability plan, Blue Planet Commitment. The action was carried out by six Hager Malaysia employees, resulting in collecting litter amounting to 5 kilograms in Bukit Gasing, Selangor.

Bukit Gasing hiking trails, a tropical forest reserve in Selangor, Malaysia, was chosen for the campaign due to the location's history of litter accumulation. The statistics published by OECD in 2022 stated that plastics account for 3.4% of global greenhouse gas emission, while only 9% of plastic waste is recycled and 22% is mismanaged globally. This fueled Hager Malaysia's to act towards combating climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emission by cleaning-up the hiking trails and forest. Such action is embedded in Hager Malaysia's E3 (Ethics, Employees, Environment) integrated sustainability strategy DNA.

In addition to the ZERO Trash Campaign, Hager Malaysia has invested in an environmentally friendly approach to ensure the longevity and quality of its products. They have introduced more sustainable solutions in production and distribution, putting the entire process, from sourcing materials to end-of-product-life, under intense scrutiny to minimize its environmental impact, including C02 emissions.
