2015 Ford Explorer hits market with host of new enhancements and fresh appearance package
Newest version of the off-road capable SUV now available at Matt Ford near Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 29, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- A little less than four years ago, the fifth generation of the Ford Explorer was introduced to the market with a design that strayed significantly from the standard design that previous generations were outfitted with. The Explorer is still roughly a year away from receiving its mid-cycle refresh, which means that the 2015 Ford Explorer still follows the highly popular fifth generation design, but it has been presented with a few new enhancements, including an appearance package available on the higher-end XLT trim.

The automaker is set to release a slew of redesigned models in the next couple of months, but models such as the Explorer and the 2015 Ford Taurus, which are carrying over past designs, are already starting to be delivered at dealerships nationwide. Among those dealerships is Matt Ford, which recently received their first shipment of the 2015 Ford Explorer. To prepare consumers for the newest addition to the inventory, Matt Ford has highlighted some of the most appealing new features of the Explorer on their website.
Among the most anticipated enhancements for the 2015 model of the Explorer is the aforementioned appearance package, which includes styling changes such as black bodyside cladding and roof rack rails, mirror caps, 20-inch aluminum wheels and a fresh grille that helps complement the unique "Explorer" hood badge which is exclusive to models outfitted with the appearance package. According to the automaker, the appearance package is available for an additional yet undoubtedly reasonable price of $1,195.
The three engine options found in the 2014 Ford Explorer make a return for the 2015 model year. Including the available 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6, which produces a class-leading output of 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque—enough twist to give the SUV a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. It's a number that comes courtesy of the Class III Trailer Tow Package, which now comes standard on the Sport trim.
Consumers interested in learning more about the 2015 Ford Explorer are encouraged to visit the Matt Ford website where the complete model overview can be accessed.
