Alcantara's Latest Fashion Collection Features "Instagram" Themes
MILAN, July 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Alcantara is previewing its 2015-2016 fall-and-winter collection of fashion materials at major shows in New York, Milan and Paris over the next three months.
With themes based on photo filters used on Instagram -- the popular photo-sharing social-media network -- the Alcantara collection will debut at Premiere Vision New York (July 22-23), Milano Unica (Sept. 9-11) and Premiere Vision Paris (Sept. 16-18).
The collection's four "Instagram" themes range in style from chic to fashionable "old-school" and include INKWELL, EARLYBIRD, LO-FI and BRANNAN.
INKWELL materials by Alcantara are intended to demonstrate the essence of black-and-white. Tone-on-tone effects are created by layering monochrome foils and prints that highlight the contrast between the two colors. Alcantara with an almost bleached white appearance and the feel of hand-knit Merino wool sharply contrasts with black appliques of resin-coated, electro-welded Alcantara reminiscent of the biker world.
Alcantara's EARLYBIRD theme offers a more faded, even fuzzy palette of blue and violet that seeks to view nature under a microscope with copper foils and iridescent canvases seen through perforated Alcantara. Stone chips applied to Alcantara for the first time further enhance material featured in the EARLYBIRD line.
LO-FI provides designers with a sporty feel, mixing a variety of textures, colors and technologies to highlight Alcantara's versatility. Within the LO-FI line stripes contrast with polka dots, solid colors are interwoven with soft, flat-background shades and digital prints team with laser cuts. Three-dimensional effects are created by bonding Alcantara with milled foam and other materials.
The collection's fourth theme, BRANNAN, offers a palette of soft tones with a focus on browns and beiges that evoke fashionable old-school style patterns such as houndstooth, tartan and Prince of Wales check.
In New York, Alcantara will be on display at Premiere Vision's Hall A48; at Milano Unica in Hall 04-Stand G06, and at Premiere Vision Paris in Hall 06-Stand 6K23.
