All-Electric 2012 Mitsubishi i Gets "Normal" in New TV & Digital Ad Campaign, Consumer Test Drive Tour of West Coast
CYPRESS, Calif., Oct. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., (MMNA) and the all-new highly efficient and eco-friendly 100% electric 2012 Mitsubishi i will help transform a charming Midwest city into EVTown, USA and share this fascinating story in the Japanese auto manufacturer's latest innovative marketing campaign.
Launching October 10th, this story is being brought to life for Mitsubishi Motors on TV and through a digital campaign that positions the 2012 Mitsubishi i as the "Most Likable Car On The Planet" and illustrates Mitsubishi's involvement in helping turn Normal, Illinois into the electric vehicle capital of the United States by bringing more 100% electric Mitsubishi i's with their innovative MiEV (Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle) technology here than anyplace in the U.S. (up to 1,000 MiEV cars for the region) and helping install a safe, convenient and high-tech EV charging infrastructure (a full 30 ultra-fast Level 3 quick charge "refueling" stations).
Normal, Illinois is a model electric vehicle (EV) community: EVTown is being driven by a coalition of business officials (including Mitsubishi Motors), government representatives and other interested stakeholders who firmly believe electric vehicles offer tremendous benefits to individuals, businesses and the greater community.
"Normal EVTown is a community that is embracing new technology in an environmentally sound way," says Chris Koos, Mayor of Normal, Illinois, who came up with the idea after visiting Mitsubishi Motors executives. "It is a way of imagining the future and Normal is that future."
