TOKYO, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- ALOKA CO., LTD. announced that the ProSound Alpha 6, the company's recently introduced compact, yet versatile and ergonomic diagnostic ultrasound system, was presented the iF Product Design Award 2010.

The iF Product Design Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the world and is granted by iF International Forum Design GmbH in Germany. This year 2,486 items from 1,016 contestants from 39 different countries were submitted for the iF Product Design Award. The ProSound Alpha 6 was able to successfully assert itself in a highly competitive, international environment.

The award presentation ceremony will be held on March 2, 2010 in Hannover, Germany. After that the ProSound Alpha 6 will be exhibited in the exhibition center in Hannover until August 2010.

The iF award is an international design award hosted by iF International Forum Design GmbH based in Hannover, Germany, which is widely acknowledged in the design industry. It selects excellent designs of mainly industrial products. Every year many applications come from around the world. The review is done based on the criteria in design, material, environmental friendliness, functionality, and safety.
