"My community involvement has always been a priority, and people who know me understand my commitment," said Boldin. "Q-Fest is among the Q81 Foundation's top priorities among our annual programs. We're going to keep doing positive things, listening to how we can fulfill the needs, and make an impact."
Leaders of the community share their feedback:
"Since my arrival in Pahokee in 2007, I have had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Mr. Boldin and partnering on several projects between the city and the Anquan Boldin Foundation, said Derrek Moore, City Manager of the City of Pahokee. "We owe a great deal of appreciation and thanks to Mr. Boldin and his foundation for all that they do and have done to bring positive focus and attention to his hometown. Mr. Boldin has shown the world that he is an elite athlete, but he is also an elite person, humanitarian and contributor."
"The Anquan Boldin Foundation has been a reliable and dependable group for our high school, said Edna Stephens, principal of Everglades Preparatory Academy. "Anquan Boldin is a mentor for our students. Without his Foundation it would be almost impossible to have the field trips and guest speaking activities during summer school for two consecutive years. Both our facilitators and students are very appreciative."
"Since Boldin's professional football career, we witnessed the start of the Anquan Boldin Foundation and watched it expand to what it is today, says Kayla French, Director of Marketing & Business Development of the Palm Beach County Sports Commission. "We participate in the Q-Festival Weekend's Fun Day in the Park every year by providing youth football equipment, staff support and counsel. We congratulate all the hard work put forth and the excitement shared among the many youth and families participating."
"We have been a friend of the Q81 Foundation for the last 6 years, stemming from a partnership to enhance existing services so that more families could be served," said Cornesha Dukes-Chisholm, director of Bridges at Pahokee, a program of Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County. "Bridges has collaborated with the Q81 Foundation on multiple projects, but the start-up of the Teen Summer Camp Program has been the most exciting and critical to the community in its help to fill a service gap for the underserved youth population. Our partnership with Anquan and the Q81 Foundation has set the standard for our work with other partners and foundations to ensure that we are helping to "Change the Odds" for our children and our families."
