Atlas Travel International Names Lea Cahill as COO
New Technology Platform and Further Expansion on the Horizon
MILFORD, Mass., May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Atlas Travel International is announcing that Lea Cahill, formerly with Amadeus, is now the Chief Operating Officer for the company. Lea will be overseeing Atlas' expansion into new areas, such as New York, and its soon-to-debut next generation technology platform, as just part of her planned 2012 programs.
The planned technology innovations for 2012, along with Ms. Cahill's hiring, come on the heels of a remarkable 2011, when the company increased their overall revenue by 15%. Atlas has also just been named one of the Women's Presidents Organizations Top 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Led Businesses in the country.
"Lea's expertise will allow us to explore new streams of business opportunity and improve our current technology to offer even more services to our clients," said Atlas President, Elaine Osgood. "Although the travel industry itself seemed to struggle in 2011, we have been solidifying our base and looking for ways to expand."
Prior to joining Atlas as its COO, Ms. Cahill worked for Garber | FCm Travel Solutions as Vice President of Travel Technology and Operations where she worked with ITA Software and then G2Switchworks to help author the project that would become the Travelport Universal Desktop. She then worked for Amadeus as Director, Product Management, Definition and Strategy where she helped author and develop the Amadeus One travel management platform. Ms. Cahill's background and experience makes her uniquely positioned as Atlas continues to expand and rollout new initiatives to provide travelers and travel managers with even greater control of the entire travel experience.
Atlas has also announced an agreement with SignUp4 to enhance their Meetings and Events online planning and management capabilities. SignUp4 will allow Atlas' virtual team of professional meeting planners seamless interaction with each other on programs or to sub-divide them by specific planner groups, while keeping overhead cost low to provide savings to customers. The online application allows Atlas' planners the ability to offer customized and comprehensive event management.
"It's exciting to join Atlas during this pivotal year. I am looking forward to my involvement with the planned technical infrastructure and product innovations already being implemented and those about to debut," said Ms. Cahill. "The technology initiatives speak to the way we listen to our customers about what they want from the travel experience and take into account the many methods of interaction to determine the best overall solution."
