Awarepoint Corporation and MEDITECH Collaborate to Integrate Technology Platforms

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Awarepoint Corporation, the leading provider of real-time location system (RTLS) enabled solutions for health care, and MEDITECH, a leading supplier of Health Care Information Systems (HCIS), today announced a collaboration to integrate technologies to provide emergency departments (EDs) with real-time patient location and critical milestone tracking within MEDITECH's enterprise-wide electronic health record (EHR) software. Western, PA-based Monongahela Valley Hospital (MVH), a 210-bed facility, is the first hospital in the country to deploy the integrated solution to improve quality of care, workflow, safety, efficiency and productivity.

When a patient changes location, or is transferred to another room, awareEDTracker communicates the patient location in real-time to MEDITECH so hospital staff can view accurate patient locations on MEDITECH EDM's big screen tracking grid and workstation status views.
