BCCI Construction Welcomes New Business Development Manager to Palo Alto Office

PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 17, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- BCCI Construction Co., a premier commercial contractor, has hired Matt Mueller as Business Development Manager to continue BCCI's expansion in the Peninsula and San Jose/Silicon Valley region.

Brad Gates, BCCI's Vice President of Business Development, said Mueller is one of a dozen hires BCCI has made in 2010, as the construction climate has markedly improved from a year ago. "In looking at BCCI's backlog of work heading into 2011, we're starting off the new year 35 percent ahead of where we were 12 months ago," Gates said.

Hiring Mueller was a strategic decision, according to Gates. "We had planned all along to have a full-time business development professional committed to the region and we feel now is the optimum time to make this move," he said. "Matt's efforts will contribute towards BCCI's growth in this marketplace."

"We spent a lot of time vetting resumes and interviewing experienced candidates, and Matt was the best fit for the organization and our objectives," Gates said. "He comes from the industry, he knows construction, he's a good communicator and he has strong relationships in the San Jose/Silicon Valley community."

Mueller, a South Bay native, most recently worked for South Bay Construction where he managed tenant improvement projects for Lockheed Martin, Trident Microsystems, Apple and Old Republic Title. Before that, as a project engineer at Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction, he handled projects for Solyndra, Polycom and Bank of America. He engineered the lobby remodeling of Santa Clara Towers on behalf of the brokerage firm, Jones Lang LaSalle.
