Buckeye Health Plan Is Honored with Case in Point Platinum Award

COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Buckeye Health Plan (Buckeye) announced today that it's been awarded a Dorland Health Case in Point Award for its Pregnancy Specialty Care Management Program. The Case in Point Platinum Awards recognizes successful case management programs that focus on the continuum of care coordination. Buckeye received the prestigious honor at the sixth annual awards ceremony held in Bethesda, Maryland, on May 7.

The Pregnancy Specialty Care Management Program, launched in January 2014, helps identify pregnant plan members with a current or previous history of alcohol and/or substance abuse and engage them in treatment programs, eliminate fragmentation in care delivery and ensure members and providers have access to information to improve the delivery of care. Participants stay in the program as long as they like and are given all relevant screenings and assessments, a member-centric treatment plan, referrals and access to clinical care conferences as needed, as well as education and support.
