BURGER KING McLAMORE(SM) Foundation Makes Sponsoring Scholars Sweeter Than Ever
Foundation Fall Fundraiser Funds Scholarships to Local Students Through BURGER KING(SM) Scholars Program
MIAMI, Sept. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the BURGER KING McLAMORESM Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the BURGER KING® system, announced the kick-off of its 2015 in-restaurant Fall Fundraiser. The fall initiative benefits the BURGER KINGSM Scholars program. This year's campaign offers guests of participating BURGER KING® restaurants a sweet deal they won't be able to resist: the opportunity to provide financial assistance to their local high school seniors while enjoying some of their favorite BURGER KING® restaurant menu items.
The chance to "help make a scholar" begins on October 1, and continues through October 31, 2015. During that time, guests who donate a dollar will receive a booklet with six (6) coupons for free menu items, including: two (2) coupons for a soft serve cone or cup; two (2) chocolate chip cookies; and two (2) coupons for a value-sized French fry or onion rings. Every dollar raised in participating restaurants will directly benefit the communities they serve, with scholarships to be awarded in the spring of 2016 through the BURGER KING℠ Scholars program. This offer is available in participating BURGER KING® restaurants in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
"The Fall Fundraiser makes it possible for many deserving students to get one step closer to achieving their dreams and making their college education goals a reality," said Jill Granat, president of the BURGER KING McLAMORESM Foundation. "With just one dollar, our valued guests can get a sweet deal and, at the same time, help build brighter futures for deserving students in their communities."
Created in memory of BURGER KING® co-founder James W. McLamore, the BURGER KINGSM Scholars program has awarded scholarships totaling more than $25.3 million to more than 24,000 outstanding students. Applications for scholarships are available to high school seniors, BURGER KING® employees, their spouses or domestic partners and children across North America through the BURGER KINGSM Scholars program.
