Buy.com® Awarded Better Business Bureau's A+ Rating
Leading Online Retailer Recognized for Customer Service Efforts
ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Feb. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Buy.com, The Internet Superstore™, today announced that it has received an A+, the highest rating for customer service, from the Better Business Bureau™ (BBB).
Buy.com, which has been BBB-accredited since Jan. 2008, recently implemented several new initiatives designed to improve the customer experience. For example, the company replaced its 30-day policy with an industry-leading 45-day return policy this past year. Buy.com is the largest U.S. retail marketplace of its kind to allow 45 days for product returns, without restocking fees. More than 400 of its third-party marketplace sellers have already adopted the new return policy, as well.
Additionally, Buy.com launched online customer chat functionality in Aug. 2010, to deliver faster, real-time service. Under its new owner, Japan's leading e-commerce provider Rakuten, Buy.com also recently implemented the "Rakuten Super Points" program. This free program rewards customers with "points" toward payment on future purchases.
"Beyond our ongoing initiatives to improve the Buy.com website through features such as competitive pricing and video product reviews, we've made significant customer service improvements over the past year," said Neel Grover, CEO and president of Buy.com. "We're committed to continuously enhancing the online shopping experience and honored that the BBB has recognized our efforts."
The Council of Better Business Bureaus assigns letter grade ratings ranging from F to A+, based on more than a dozen different categories, including length of operation, government actions against the business, overall complaint history, advertising issues and more.
