C Spire introduces new unlimited data plan with cash back for tablets

Under the plan that debuts today for existing customers and those who switch to the company's wireless unit from other mobile carriers, consumers who sign up for the unlimited tablet data plan can qualify for a $10 bill credit when they use less than 2 GB of data each month, a 40 percent savings off the regular $25 monthly tablet data plan cost.

Each unlimited data line for tablets also includes HD video streaming and mobile hotspot.  After 25 gigabytes (GB) of usage, the company may slow data speeds to protect its network and other users' experience.  C Spire carries some of the most popular tablets, including the LG G Pad F 8, iPad Pro, iPad mini 4 and the new iPad.

The tablet data plan with cash back extends a popular unlimited plan for mobile phones that was introduced by C Spire for the first time last month, according to Suzy Hays, senior vice president of Consumer Markets.  Under that plan, unlimited users can qualify for the bill credit when they use less than 2 GB of data per month. 

With the growing interest in unlimited plans and the company's long history as a leader in plan innovation, extending the flexible cash back feature for tablet data plans was a logical next step, Hays said.  "The plan flexes with customers' usage, eliminates surprise overages and ensures they don't overpay when they use less data," she said.

The new tablet unlimited data plan option comes at a time when more consumers than ever are connecting their devices to a mobile network.  In 2016, the number of mobile-connected tablets increased 26 percent, according to Cisco's Visual Networking Index, which forecasts and analyzes the growth and use of internet and IP networks.
