CANDY HOUSE Kickstarter Raises $600,000+ and Counting for the Sesame Smart Lock, the World's First Instant Smart Lock

PALO ALTO, Calif., March 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CANDY HOUSE, the manufacturer of the Sesame Smart Lock, the world's first instant smart lock, is thrilled to announce that its Kickstarter campaign has raised more than five times its original goal in just one week.

Following the development and testing of a prototype, on February 25, the California-based company launched a Kickstarter campaign for the Sesame Smart Lock with a goal of $100,000. So far, the campaign has raised more than $600,000 from 3,800 backers. Along with the support of backers around the world, the Sesame Smart Lock was also named a Kickstarter Staff Pick, giving the product additional exposure.

What exactly is a Sesame Smart Lock? It's a lock that replaces your house key and that is accessed with an app on your smartphone. The lock works in concert with the existing single-cylinder deadbolt lock on any door, like the front door of your home, and allows you to control access to the door from your phone. Simply install the lock – no tools required – and use the Sesame app to open the door. You can also tap on your phone or choose a custom knock to open the door automatically via Bluetooth or WiFi.

You can even choose who has access to the lock and receive notifications any time your door opens or closes, a great home security feature. Sesame fits all deadbolts in the U.S., Canada and Australia and most locks in Sweden, Denmark and Japan. The lock lasts about 500 days on lithium batteries that come with the unit, and a low battery notification will remind you it is time to replace the batteries.

Available in May 2015, Sesame will be available in four colors – leather white, metallic silver, piano black and champagne pink – and sold for $149.  However, Kickstarter backers can pledge a contribution of $99 or more to get a Sesame lock.  The early bird price of $89 has sold out. Additional packages and rewards are available.
