Costa Rica turns business meetings into unforgettable experiences

Team building has never been this fun

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, Oct. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- As company retreats and team building activities continue to grow in popularity, one destination rises to the top as distinctive for its range in offerings and advanced tourism infrastructure: Costa Rica.  The invaluable benefits of more engaged employees--to a company's bottom line, means that taking time away from the office to re-energize and refocus your employees is the new "smart investment." And few destinations on earth provide such an impressive combination of well-equipped meeting space, world-class accommodations and once-in-a-lifetime experiences as Costa Rica. It is truly a paradise for groups and sets the standard for exceptional conferences, summits and events—to help make a mind-numbing business assembly into a highly-stimulating experience.

There are many reasons that make Costa Rica a choice destination for hosting corporate events. First, all major U.S. and Canadian hubs have easy air access to Costa Rica's two international airports—Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) and Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR). Second, because Costa Rica is strategically located in a tropical region of Central America, this equates to stable climates all year round. Also, Costa Rica is a recognized leisure-travel destination with an advanced tourism infrastructure. Visitors will find all types of accommodations from internationally acclaimed hotel chains and five-star resorts to charming one-of-a-kind eco-friendly lodging options.

Additionally, with all of the state-of-the-art services and amenities needed to execute meetings large or small, Costa Rica is set up to help host first-class corporate retreats. The destination offers modern facilities that can accommodate all group sizes with unrivaled service. Transportation is extremely convenient within the country, as Costa Rica offers a large fleet of new-model motor coaches, deluxe buses, microbuses and vans for any kind of traveling need. Plus, for North Americans traversing through the country, communicating is made easy with multilingual guides and citizens. English is spoken by many Costa Ricans.

Moreover, Costa Rica holds a privileged status for meetings organized by U.S. companies. Meeting costs are tax-deductible for U.S. organizations and citizens.  According to the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Costa Rica is considered to be part of the "North American Area" and individuals attending conventions, seminars or symposiums in Costa Rica can claim deductions for expenses incurred at those events.

A team that zip-lines together, will surpass quarterly KPI's together. Costa Rica offers plenty of activities to help companies increase employee morale, boost team productivity and improve a group's problem-solving skills.  The country's natural wonders, rich culture and diverse gastronomy provide businesses with an abundance of opportunities. In between year-end sales and marketing presentations, employees can take deep breaths of aire puro, or fresh air, sunbathe on a sandy beach alongside either coast, find their center at a world-class yoga retreat in the heart of the rainforest and even emancipate themselves from their electronics at one of the digital detox programs offered at several luxurious spas. Enroll your team in a Tico cuisine cooking class to help them step out of their comfort zone and connect with colleagues through the power of food.

Hailed as an adventure traveler's haven, Costa Rica's vast mountains, flowing rivers, unspoiled rain forests and active volcanoes offer an ideal playground for the organizations and employees who visit annually. Unspoiled natural landscapes and diverse topography throughout the country allow for coast-to-coast, action-packed adventures such as: white-water rafting, rappelling, horseback riding and tubing, which all make for a perfect respite from back-to-back meetings. Whatever your corporate goals are, Costa Rica has the means to exceed individual and collective expectations.
