Simplot Company today announced that CravOn™, its "never fried" french fry, will be available to consumers throughout Albertsons Southern California Division grocery stores beginning in mid July. The division's 192 stores push the total number of retailers carrying the four varieties of fries to more than 400 stores. CravOn meets the cravings of a healthier lifestyle and great potato taste.
CravOn's revolutionary process eliminates the industry standard of flash-frying prior to freezing and packaging. Partially-cooked in a blanching process, the CravOn fries are tossed with olive oil and sea salt before being frozen.
