DARPA's Peiter "Mudge" Zatko Takes Keynote Stage at Black Hat USA 2011 Largest and Most Prestigious Information Security Event Series Breaks Never Before Public Vulnerabilities and 33 New Tools
SEATTLE, July 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Black Hat, produced by UBM TechWeb, today announced that Peiter "Mudge" Zatko, Program Manager, Information Innovation Office, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), will be one of this year's keynotes at Black Hat USA 2011, the world's leading information security event. Prior to joining DARPA, Peiter "Mudge" Zatko was a Division Scientist and Technical Director for BBN Technology's National Intelligence Research and Applications division. He previously was also the CEO and Chief Scientist at LHI Technologies, and Chief Scientist/Executive Vice President for Research and Development at @Stake Inc. Zatko has served on the advisory boards of several organizations, as an R&D Subcommittee Member to the Partnership for Critical Infrastructure Protection, and as a Research Subcommittee Member to the Office of Science and Technology. Zatko is the inventor of L0phtCrack, a Microsoft password auditing tool; of AntiSniff, a remote promiscuous system detector; of L0phtWatch/Tempwatch; and of SLINT, a tool in automating source code analysis to discover security coding vulnerabilities.
