GREENEVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The new direct-to-consumer boating accessory company Direct Buy Marine has announced its Board of Directors.

Direct Buy Marine is unique in that it offers boating accessories below wholesale prices with an innovative sourcing and logistics strategy that increases environmental sustainability.

Based in Greeneville, Tenn., Direct Buy Marine was started by veteran businesspeople who found the cost of accessories necessary for legal and safe boating is too high, largely due to many business layers that add cost without value.

With the U.S. boating accessories market at about $4.2 billion annually, Direct Buy Marine will offer all of the most popular items including rope, anchors, chains, hardware, lights and safety and maintenance products and equipment.

Direct Buy Marine eliminates retail packaging to reduce cost while promoting environmental sensitivity and sustainability. It also manages its own distribution facility, giving it greater control over inventory and customer service.

Based in east Tennessee, Direct Buy Marine is in a prime location for both rail and ground shipping, again lowering costs.

The new Direct Buy Marine Board of Directors is:

Dave Peterson, Chairman. Tennessee resident Dave Peterson has had a lengthy career in global value chain design and implementation services. Peterson's career in global value chain design and implementation serves as a solid foundation to the Direct Buy Marine model.

Jesse T. Metheny, Treasurer. Metheny has an extensive background in finance and accounting from publicly traded corporations to non-profits. Metheny also has substantial experience in Foreign Taxation and U.S. taxation disciplines as well as Audits and Sarbanes Oxley standards. Metheny is a U.S. Army veteran.

Eugene Barnard, Secretary, Operations Advisor. With a background in operations, Barnard has managed the implementation of cost-cutting processes while aligning customer and corporate needs. Barnard will bring ISO certification to Direct Buy Marine's warehouse and distribution system.

Brad Burke, Member, Marketing Advisor. Prior to joining Direct Buy Marine, Burke was involved in many facets of online marketing. Burke's most notable accomplishments include the development of an internet marketing, recruiting and training system that created four of the top 10 sales reps at Legacy for Life, a company of 30,000 independent contractors. Burke also developed a system that resulted in the reduction of search engine indexing from six months to only two weeks.

Chris Hynes, Member, Engineering/Quality Advisor. Prior to joining Direct Buy Marine, Hynes worked in research and development and was a product engineer for a leading national marine accessories company, where he was directly responsible for three patent applications, life cycle testing, failure analysis and quality control.

Robert P. Dennison, Member, Risk Manager. Dennison's legal career began working for one of the nation's largest and most prestigious law firms, where he represented clients in complex litigation matters involving business and other disputes. He is the founder of Dennison Law Group, LLC, which continues to represent individuals and business entities engaged in litigation and provides litigation avoidance strategies. Dennison is also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served one tour during Operation Desert Storm.
