North Central College Honors USANA's Founder at 146th Commencement

SALT LAKE CITY, June 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- USANA Health Sciences, Inc. (NYSE: USNA) is proud to announce that North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, awarded an honorary doctor of science degree (D.Sc) to Dr. Myron Wentz on June 11, 2011 for lifetime achievement in the sciences.

“Dr. Myron Wentz is a scientist, entrepreneur, the builder of three significant enterprises, a philanthropist and evangelist for healthy lives,” said Dr. Harold Wilde, North Central College president. “In honor of Dr. Wentz, we express our gratitude not only for his generosity of spirit toward his alma mater and other causes such as the health of children across the globe, but also for the many ways his life has been witness for the values we most cherish as a college.”

An Albert Einstein award-winning scientist, Dr. Wentz is also the founder of Gull Laboratories, USANA Health Sciences and Sanoviv Medical Institute.  He is the author of several books, including New York Times bestseller, The Healthy Home.  A long-time philanthropist, Dr. Wentz helped build medical centers in Malawi, Africa and in Cambodia serving children in need.

North Central College is celebrating its Sesquicentennial, the 150th anniversary of its founding in 1861. The college first awarded an honorary degree 135 years ago, in 1876. Recent honorary degree recipients include Medal of Freedom winner James Q. Wilson; Harvard's Henry Louis Gates Jr.; Children's Defense Fund founder Marian Wright Edelman; and former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert.
