'Drawdown' Provides Solutions to Global Warming, Cites Interface's Innovative Approach to Carbon Reductions

ATLANTA, April 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Interface, Inc. (Nasdaq: TILE), the world's largest manufacturer of modular carpet, is recognized for its sustainability accomplishments in Paul Hawken's latest book, "Drawdown – The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming," released this week. Interface helped fund Project Drawdown and supports the idea that companies must take action on carbon emissions now.

In his new book, Hawken maps, measures, models, and describes the 100 most substantive solutions to global warming. The goal of Hawken's book is to determine whether society can reverse the buildup of atmospheric carbon within 30 years. Drawdown refers to the point at which atmospheric carbon begins to decrease as a result of these solutions.

Interface is recognized for its recycled materials programs that reduce carbon emissions by avoiding the impacts of virgin raw materials. Specifically, Hawken highlights Interface's Net-Works™ program in partnership with the Zoological Society of London. Net-Works supports the collection of discarded fishing nets that are brought back as recycled content for nylon used in Interface's carpet tiles. Hawken also references Interface's ReEntry™ program, in which Interface reclaims used carpet tile to recycle the face cloth and reuse the backing in new modular carpet and other products.
