NEW YORK, Dec. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- EmblemHealth, the New York-based health insurer and wellness company, has opened its third EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care, an inviting place where the community is welcomed to meet face-to-face with EmblemHealth professionals to ask questions, get reliable information and solve problems. The newest EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care is located at 87 Bowery in Manhattan's Chinatown.
EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care integrates company resources with those of the community to help members and non-members get the most from their health care and stay healthier. By understanding their lives, linking them to resources, and simplifying the process to help them navigate the health care system, EmblemHealth is able to identify and eliminate barriers to treatment. With a dedicated presence in the community, the EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care team is well-positioned to connect people with the care and services they need.
"EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care represents our mission to provide access to quality health care and improve wellness in our communities," said Eliza Ng, MD, Senior Medical Director, Clinical Administration and EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care. "By being respectful of and responsive to the cultural, linguistic and health practices of New York's diverse populations, we will be more effective at meeting their health care needs."
All EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care locations are staffed with people who have deep roots and close ties in their respective communities. The first two EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care locations opened in November 2012 in Harlem and Cambria Heights, Queens. Nearly one year later, the Harlem and Cambria Heights teams have welcomed more than 27,000 people.
