EMC First to Deliver 16 Gigabit FC Technologies

HOPKINTON, Mass., May 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced the EMC Connectrix family will be the first to offer 16 gigabits per second (Gbps) Fibre Channel switching technology.  Based on Brocade's new cutting edge technology, EMC Connectrix enables customers to create a powerful, end-to-end Fibre Channel solution that provides the scalability, high-performance and operational simplicity that is needed for highly-virtualized, private cloud environments.  By doubling available throughput, the new 16 Gbps EMC Connectrix solutions will dramatically increase customers' ability to accelerate their  journey to the cloud.
