Emerald Networks Appoints Phillip Magiera as Chief Financial Officer and Board Member

ATLANTA, June 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Emerald Networks, a new-build network submarine cable system that will connect North America to Europe and Iceland with extraordinary new capacity, is pleased to announce and welcome Mr. Phillip Magiera as its new Chief Financial Officer and member of the company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Magiera is a highly experienced telecommunications investor, CEO, CFO and board member.  As a seasoned executive, he brings more than 25 years of experience to Emerald Networks, including raising venture capital, private equity, negotiating business acquisitions, developing new products and managing strategic ventures.

Prior to joining Emerald Networks, Mr. Magiera was a founder, CFO and investor in InterAmericas Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: ICCA), and founder, investor and CFO of Worldport Communications (NASDAQ: WRDP). 

Additionally, Mr. Magiera was the founder and CEO of Applied Telecommunication Technologies, Inc., (ATTI), an early telecommunications infrastructure investment fund with assets of $300 million.  ATTI invested in over 24 telecommunications infrastructure businesses including internet and fiber infrastructure opportunities.  Mr. Magiera has also served as Executive Chairman of OpenClinica, the leading open source clinical trials software services provider.
